Waking up late and ending up bunking the most important lectures?
Or fixing up a date and ending up reaching late resulting in a “not so good mood” of your girl friend 😉
As the case may be.
Thus punctuality is one of the most important element not just in case of a date or a lecture, but for every meeting you fix, decisions you need to take, clients you need to visits, projects you need to supervise.
In every aspect “effective management of time is the soul to reach the goal”
Owing to this,
In this article I am focusing on how can one do the things planned or the dates fixed on time.
There may be many ways but a strategy that I use is “backward planning”
Backward planning is a strategy that is adopted by navy forces to plan out disasters on the frontiers in the stipulated and decided time.
However I feel it would be more useful in case of us “the management students”
In this startegy you plan everything backward. For example you have a lecture at 8am in your college and hence your plan will start from 8.
Now let’s go backward.
For example you need about an hour to reach college from your house (it may differ with the distance, college and individual) thus you need to leave house by 7am.
Once this is done you plan out the time required for you to have your breakfast.
Consider you require 10mins for your breakfast, than may be 20mins for freshning your self and rejuvenating your body and soul in a hot shower than may be another 10mins for exercise (if you really do) and may be 15mins for dressing up,
Thus in order to reach your destination on time you need to wake up
10+20+10+15+60 = 2hours approx
That is 6am.
And if you complete all your works in the time slot planned by you, you surely will be able to plan out the best date and not be tagged with the word “LATE” ahead your name.
So at the end
Wish you a Happy Backward Planning 🙂
