Fashion is a term which each one of us relates as each individual has a sense of fashion. The fashion world is a very big industry. Each one of us wants to look good and stay in vogue. We all admire beauty. The larger than life pictures do captivate an individual. Nowadays fashion is not restricted to a certain sect of the society and holds no age bar. Madhur Bhandarkar’s movie “Fashion” showcased the bitter truth of models and the fashion world but it still has its own attractions which sways young girls and guys. Meryl Streep’s role is “The Devil wears Prada” was an intimidating one, everyone who saw it wanted to be in her shoes.
Fashion today isn’t today just about clothing, it’s much more. Foreign brands have flooded the Indian market. Fashionista’s like Sonam Kapoor are an inspiration for many youngsters and also an object of intrigue. The women who appear on Page 3 columns are often a topic of discussion at kitty parties. But we’ve evolved beyond celebrity endorsements. Every common man or woman has his/her mind of own today. They are well aware of the brands and it’s pricing.
Fashion has outgrown couture. Today it is a part of individuality. From teenage college students, to people working at corporate, housewives, etc all of them have their individual opinions. It is more about comfort. People today want to wear clothes and carry looks which strengthen their personality and portrays their attributes. Because of comfort clothing we come across people who are more confident. The changing face of retail needs to be given due credit for this transformation in peoples thinking.
Fashion today is a household phenomenon. Men and women are sporting the look which they like. They are much more open to change and also readily taking risks. This has led to comfort fashion which doesn’t just stick to casual clothing but simply means ‘being in your skin’.
