Under this type of ownership structure an individual or corporate owns only one retail store. Usually it is a very large retail outlet as it is a single facilitator for large class of customers. This type of structure carries many advantages such as: high bargaining power, low operation cost (as there are no branches), centralisation of all decisions related to inventory, higher flexibility, large volume business. These kind of retail stores nowadays work only in local areas as corporate chains and franchisees has taken over the market.
Example: Any retailer who has monopoly in your locality is term to be a retailer with single ownership style.
