COLLABORATION :
Discovery entered into an agreement with Vijay TV to provide the programs in Tamil. The programs were dubbed in Tamil language and this is how they tapped the customer segment who did not understand English.
PENETRATION STRATEGY :
In order to increase its penetration in South India, Discovery decided to launch its program in the regional languages.
JOINT VENTURE:
To increase the viewership, Discovery also entered into the joint venture with Sony Entertainment Television (SET).
INNOVATION AND PERCEPTION :
Parents found that discovery channel is innovative and different from the normal and regular dramas; this would also sharpen their mind and increase their knowledge. According to marketing research Discovery was very popular among parents and children.
CUSTOMIZATION :
As discovery had done survey for their channel it helped them in customizing their product i.e their channel. With help of their survey they also understood need of the customer and introduced programs according to it.
