The FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Brazil this year, is starting next week on Thursday, June 12th. In preparation for the huge soccer event, Google has Street View capabilities for all 12 of the stadiums. Google typically adds Street View imagery to stadiums that host major events such as the Super Bowl or the Olympics.
Fans can now take a virtual tour of the FIFA World Cup stadiums from the comfort of their own homes. In addition to looking at the gigantic stadiums, fans can also check out the famous painted streets of Brazil, which are considered one of the country’s tournament traditions.
The FIFA World Cup is one of the largest sporting events in the world, and features 32 soccer teams competing to become champions. The tournament happens once every four years and features only the top 32 soccer teams in the world, narrowed down from hundreds of competing teams from across the globe.
The World Cup will start next week on Thursday, June 12th. The first game will feature Brazil facing off against Croatia in the newly built Arena de Sao Paulo.
