Mrs. Sumati Dighe is working in nationalized bank now for over twenty years in clerical grade. Almost, every third year she is transferred from one branch to another, although it is in the same city but still she is quite fed up with periodic change and would like to quit and do something else. The husband of sumati is a manager in large industry in the city. They have two children, both sons, in 12th standard and 9th standard.
Mrs. Sumati has a cooking expertise, particularly in making non-vegetarian dishes. Her preparation of biryani is very famous and many friends and relatives place order with her. An opportunity came her way. A three star hotel was nearing completion in a good locality. They have planned for a fast food joint. The management of the hotel felt that initially it should operate from 7.00 pm to 11.00 pm. It would be called the ‘Evening Spot’. Mrs. Sumati has been asked to submit her proposal. This should include the area she will require, facilities, product mix and how she will compensate the hotel for this business. As Mrs. Sumati does not have a business background so she has approached you for help.
