Many times people either underestimate or overestimate a salary and with that comes a no hire. If you lower your standard too low, they think you are not talented enough for the job and if you over ask, you are going to be immediately dismissed as someone who is not potentially viable for the job. You need to quote a price range, a salary within that range and set realistic expectations.
