  • Tell us about yourself.

Well… I’m Ms.Farheen Hamdulay, pursuing my Bachelors now and Insha’Allah would like to do my Masters in Business Administration in Retail Management. Honestly I’m a real fun loving person, my family and friends comes first for me before anything else. I believe everything comes on its own sweet time so till then just enjoy and stop worrying about something that has not occurred yet. I’m a big foodie and a die-heart fan of MS Dhoni (just love him).

  • Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?

To be really very frank I was not at all expecting to top, I give my 100% to whatever I do I did the same here and the results are to be seen. First and foremost would like to thank ALLAH for giving me strength and courage for everything then my college faculty for being kind and generous my special thanks to my HoD Prof. Ms. Deepa Makkad for always standing by my side in any given circumstances, my loving parents especially my mom for those late night coffees and last but not least my friends and well-wishers for their support and criticism.

  • Did you prepare religiously from day One or A few weeks before the exams?

Not from day one for sure for all subjects but I religiously worked on Financial Management. But before exams I helped my friend with his studies that made me a bit more perfect.

  • How did you allot time to different subjects?

The only timetable I follow is my college lecture timetable and time slots of watching T.V. programs. I’m not a person who can wake up early and study I used to study till late night. Financial Management was a regular affair and did other subjects as with passing time.

  • Can you share some insights on how to crack the subjects before exams?

It is clear that we can’t study from day one but taking studies seriously before a month and making proper study schedule and following it. I would like to thank my Service Sector Management Professor Mr. Benny Thomas for those last minute revision and making us write and learn all concepts and long answers. Practice Financial Management regularly as I did, and for the rest theory subjects understand the concepts clearly and provide answers with good examples.

Elements in Logistics and Supply Chain Management was a bit difficult but I gave my maximum attention to it, Business Ethics, Special Studies in Marketing and Human Resource Management  were easy with lots and lots of examples to put in.

Case studies are more scoring as they are direct questions and personal response questions. Citing proper examples and definitions for answers are bonus.

  • Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?

Coaching class is not must for BMS for all subjects. I had only joined for Financial Management. For theory subjects self-study is a must with regular concentration on lectures. I had joint KIRTIDA TUTORIALS at VASHI where proper chapter wise test with many mock exams were conducted which helped me to score good in FM.

  • Did you participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities? Do you think a BMS student can manage both studies and extra activities?

Yes, I did participate in my college fest GENESIS which was a grand affair along with many departmental fests in our college and many seminars and events of other colleges.

We are MANAGEMENT students and we ought to learn to manage our studies with all extra-curricular activities. We should be inclined to learn whatever good comes our way.

  • Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS?

Not pertaining to management but I did basic and advanced course in French language and enhanced my knowledge in it which in return helped me with completion of my 200 mks project without any hustle-bustle.

  • Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?

My Dad always says “You are not born on bed of roses or a silver spoon in your mouth so failure is bound to cross you; so always treat it like a special guest and learn from your past mistakes and rectify them.”

My best stress booster is a good sound sleep or even a power nap of 15-20 minutes, music, or good food.

  • Do you think the number of Industrial visits should be increased for BMS Students? Which industries have you visited?

Yes, I feel that there should be more number of Industrial visits for BMS students.

Industrial visits are great fun and learning experience. They provide us with lots of practical knowledge that is required in today’s competitive world. I have visited Mysore Silk Industry at Mysore and Karnataka Soap And Detergents Ltd. at Bangalore.

  • Do you think BMS students are flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams round the clock? What changes would you like to bring in the BMS Curriculum?

No not at all in fact I love making and presenting presentations. Projects are a part of Vth semester which I just loved making it as my project was on ‘FRENCH CULTURE’- my area of interest.

  • What message would you like to give to the next batch of BMS students?

Always do any work with full passion and determination with your 100% efforts in it and never wait for the end result.  DO THE BEST AND LEAVE THE REST. Enjoyments are always there but never turn your back from your responsibilities and your duties.

A wonderful site which keeps on updating students and connects all BMS students under one screen.
