An Interview with Natalia Sharon Crasto, TYBMS Sem 5 Topper, Malini Kishor Sanghvi College of Commerce and Economics (81.5%)
- Tell us more about yourself.
If I had to say something about myself briefly I would say I’m a pretty outgoing and bubbly person who believes there should be a balance between your social life and educational as they both stay by your side, I love dancing and my all time favorite is doing college festivals.
- Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?
Quite honestly I wasn’t expecting to top though I wanted too no denying that…honestly the way I studied there was no place for hope, the credit goes to all the people who are a part of my life.
- Did you prepare religiously from day One or A few weeks before the exams?
I’m the kind of person who works under pressure, so No I didn’t start from my first day I actually started studying properly 17 days before by exams except for Financial Management.
- How did you allot time to different subjects?
My time table was challenging but achievable but you will probably follow it for the first three days that’s about it, but one should prepare a time table it gives you a start line, start with your tougher subjects and preferably do them during the day. I studied almost 8 hours a day in those 17 days.
- Can you share some insights on how to crack the subjects before exams?
All the subjects are not something you don’t know because you have studied that for the past two years and if commerce student then four years, all the theory subjects are easy logistics needs to be more defined though.
One should fill their paper well the head points are the most important as the examiner knows you know what you’re writing about…
IMPORTANT TIP READ YOUR BOOK LIKE A BOOK DON’T STUDY IT LIKE YOUR PROBABLY READING You’ll GRASP MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE…!!!
Write an introduction and definition that’s about it…
- Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?
Coaching for your practical subject like financial management but theory it just not required. Everything is self explanatory…
- Did you participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities? Do you think a BMS student can manage both studies and extra activities?
Yes I participated in college fests and we did in full strength and complete dedication, BMS students can do college fests without a doubt…!!! I did too…!!!
- Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS?
No I didn’t take up a course or internship but one can do so… If they are willing to slog later…
- Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?
Stress to a certain degree is a must… That’s the push we all need…BMS is not a course where people will even think of committing suicide…it’s a temporary stress routine which is a part of a student’s life…we have examples of people not educated but still doing well…life is a precious gift of god…don’t insult it…by committing suicide…
- Do you think the number of Industrial visits should be increased for BMS Students? Which industries have you visited?
No I don’t think so personally that the industrial visits should be increased there are fine, I have visited Mother Dairy, Parle G factory, Marble factory.
- Do you think BMS students are flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams round the clock? What changes would you like to bring in the BMS Curriculum?
Well not really but they have already improved it in the batches after us…but the assignment should be a little more practical where the student visits the industry instead of Google…
I’m quite happy with what we had though…
- What message would you like to give to the next batch of BMS students?
When you’re with your friends enjoy yourself but when your studying give it your undivided attention…do little initially if you don’t want to be flooded with portion later…find a balance…!!!
- What are the future plans post BMS?
I plan to go abroad for my MBA to specialize in marketing…*FINGERSCROSSED*…
