The future of a student is shaped by the hands of a teacher. A teacher is like a potter who forms beautiful pots out of mere clay. A motivating teacher is like the North Star, which guides the lost and shows them the path. It is upon the student if they follow the path and in which way they follow it, but the teacher is always there silently supporting every student. Everyone has the best times of their life in school and college. It is also the time which decides our future for the rest of our lives. Teachers are an integral path of this experience. We all have our worst and best teachers. The ones we love, adore and idolize or even resent and hate. Today, I would like to share my experience about my favorite BMS faculty, Prof. Melanie Andrade.
Prof. Melanie Andrade is a B.Com graduate. She has done her M.Com in NET (National Eligibility Test). She has been in the field of teaching from 2 years and has continued to motivate all her students. She was earlier a Professor at the NM College and is currently a full time faculty at St. Andrew’s College, Bandra. She is mainly in-charge of the BMS department. The various subjects that she teaches are Environmental Studies, Commerce 1, Commerce 2, Financial Markets Operation, Service Sector Management, Entrepreneurship Management and many more.
Prof. Melanie has a unique style of teaching. She makes use of power point presentation and also explains with the help of diagrams and charts. This helps the students to get a better understanding of the subject. She is freely approachable at any given point of time to solve doubts and queries of the students. She is an open minded teacher and does not judge quickly. Many students approach her with personal issues which she helps out with too. Thus she is not only a guide but also a confidant.
Not only is Prof. Melanie involved academically in the college, she also organizes other events and fests. She has a firm belief in God and encourages students to get closer to God.
It is said that First impression is the last impression; Prof. Melanie is a teacher that strikes a perfect first impression such that all students love her. She has a unique Charm and charisma. Being a young teacher, she understands students better. A teacher is the best textbook for students and indeed Prof. Melanie is one.
