Priyanka…………….!!!!!!!!!!!The meaning of this word is “lovable, makes everyone happy”. As the name suggests Priyanka Chopra, the famous Bollywood star indeed is loved by all and makes everyone happy. Today where Priyanka stands, she has many feathers in her cap. Priyanka Chopra has won the National Film Award for the film “Fashion” and has won many Filmfare Awards. She is even loved by her fans. But achieving this fame was not a cakewalk.                                                                                                                            

Priyanka Chopra was born in Jamshedpur and lived in different parts of the country but even then she takes Bareilly to be as her real home. Priyanka started her studies at La Martiniere Girls College in Lucknow, a short stay at Maria Goretti College in Bareilly. She completed her tenth in Boston. Due to her skin colour, she was bullied in her school. At the age of 13, Priyanka moved to US to live with her aunt. She decided to become a software engineer or a criminal psychologist. She is trained in western classical music and kathak. Priyanka has also performed in Hollywood songs with the famous rapper Pit-bull. She has also published her songs such as “In My City”, “Exotic”.
Priyanka’s parents Dr. Ashok Chopra and Madhu Chopra affectionately called her as “Mimi”. Priyanka was very close to her father. Even she tattooed “Daddy’s lil girl” on her hand. When she was studying as an engineer, her mother and brother gave some of her photos for the Miss India contest. She was also called as “Piggy Chops” and “Sunshine”. When Priyanka won the Miss India Award, she use to sleep with her crown as she was scared that someone would steal it. After winning the crown of Miss India in 2000, still Priyanka did not enter into Bollywood. She never thought that she would ever come in Bollywood. She says that coming in Bollywood happened due to trial and error.


As she got an offer for a movie, she tried for it. Priyanka Chopra made her debut in a Tamil film “Thamizhan” in 2002. For Priyanka Chopra’s B-Town debut she was signed for “Humraaz”, but later she was replaced by Ameesha Patel due to her “Kaho Na Pyaar Hai” fame. Later she debuted in “Hero-Love Story Of A Spy” where she played a cameo. Priyanka stepped on a live fire when she was shooting for the song, “Do me a favour, let’s play holi” in “Waqt- the Race against Time”. She was hospitalized for a day.
Priyanka has performed in many charitable works. She was first Indian in USA to be selected at the state level for the “National Opus Honor Choir” because of her extensive charity work in India and USA. Priyanka worked for adult education awareness with the non-governmental organizations in Bareilly and also sponsored the Polio Eradication Program as a volunteer.
Priyanka Chopra is a multitasker and we all should take inspiration from her. Today when people watch Priyanka Chopra, her fame, everyone feels that how lavish her life is. But no one can imagine that so many obstacles would have come in her way. By crossing all the hurdles, today she is a National Award Winner and rules over her fan’s hearts.
