Earlier for me BMS means “Baad Main Sochenge” but now I am here to learn management (and it truly helps)..!!!

  • Tell us more about yourself.

I am a good example of “MEDIOCRE”. Not very good nor very poor. I am Sincere, hardworking when it’s about studies, introvert. My hobbies are listening music, making candles.

  • Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?

To be honest no I did not expect. It was surprise for me and would never believe the fact until it was said by my class mate. My success credit goes to my professors viz .Mrs. Chaitali Dutta (Coordinator of TYBMS), Mrs. Abha Maheshwari

Because of their support and the excellent teaching . And it would not be possible without them. My elder brother who used to motivate me by making things simpler.

  • Did you prepare religiously from day One or A few weeks before the exams?

I didn’t start preparing from day one. But I used to attend lectures regularly and hence I had a fair idea about all subjects. I started preparing for it just before a month starting with concepts each day. And internals helped a lot.

  • How did you allot time to different subjects?

Emmmm no time-table… for me time-table never works. I started with concepts each day tried to complete it within one day. And then so for long answer and rest part 3 days each particular subject. Starting with last chapters first.

No specific hours as such. I Would enjoy studying.

  • Can you share some insights on how to crack the subjects before exams? Which are the easy subjects? Any special way of writing the answers? How to crack case studies in theory and practical subjects?

All the theory subjects require conceptual understanding. If you are able to understand the concept, you don’t need to mug up anything. I never learned anything by rote. You just need to explain the same in your own words. Also, all the answers should be written in point form and not essay form. This makes it easier for the person checking the paper to understand what you have written. Try to give maximum examples this help you score marks.  Underline the key words which are required in your answer so that the examiner can know that you have understood the concepts properly.

“Don’t just read to study…study like u doesn’t have to read it again” (understand what each line tells you)

For subjects like FM, practicing it regularly will help to understand the different kinds of sums and will make it easier at the end moment to revise. And try to write all formulas in one paper while studying FM. Even this helps you to recall all formulas till the end.

For Case Studies, the golden rule is to write about “the concept which relates to the case and not the case itself.”

What is tested from the case study is how well a student is able to apply a theoretical concept to a practical situation in business. Application of practical knowledge is very important.

  • Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?

Yes, I think coaching classes are required. For subjects like FM and SSF. As each student have different quality. You know “a sharpen axe can cut a tree very fast”

Like an axe if student are sharpen with their doubt and problem it would be easy for them to cut the tree fast (to write the paper good without making the same mistake). Theory subjects just not required. Everything is self explanatory…

Yes I joined coaching classes for FM.

  • Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?

Committing suicide is not the result of the failure. Try to face the problem with challenge and should try to complete the challenge as u have to prove you-self “yes…!!! I can do it”. Stress to a certain degree is a must… That’s the push we all need. It’s a temporary stress routine which is a part of a student’s life. Life is a precious gift of god…doesn’t insult it and make people tell he/she was a failure..!!!

I always had break in between my studies. To reduce stress I used to watch TV, and listen to music or sit quite for a couple of min. When I felt that I can’t take anymore I use to go out and have a walk and would come back with greater energy and concentration for studying. It really helped me a lot.

  • Do you think the number of Industrial visits should be increased for BMS Students? Which industries have you visited?

Yes, it should be increased due to get practical knowledge. Well industrial visits are the most wonderful thing in any streams. I used to love them. Our college has taken us to so many places that we have always enjoyed them along gain knowledge. We have visited to simla-chandigarh, JNPT,Bharat Gears –Mumbra.

These kinds of IV help in understanding how the concept is actually applied in practical life and in business operations. This also helps in particular subjects to understand more with interest. i.e. logistic.

  • Do you think BMS students are flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams round the clock? What changes would you like to bring in the BMS Curriculum?

I feel that there should be more practical oriented assignments where students are required to visit industries and collect data rather that just collecting the information from internet. And moreover reducing anything doesn’t think so. We are management student. We should have proper time management then it is easy to manage this entire thing.

After all this ultimately we are improving our skills. To stand and face in competitive market.

  • What message would you like to give to the next batch of BMS students?

“Believe in yourself. If you have an aim in life and if you want to prove yourself then automatically you will achieve it.”

Have fun along with your studies… study not to forget…and wish you luck and all the bestDon’t forgetNever give up. Great things take time!!”

  • What are the future plans post BMS?

I am planning to do an MBA. Before that would like to have experience…
