Interview with Komal C. Tawade, TYBMS Sem 5 Topper 2013-14, Sathaye College who scored 66% and GPA score is 6.29
How does it feel to be a Topper in the university exams? Whom will you credit your success to? What was your success mantra?
Some things are so unexpected that no one is prepared for them. Nearly all the best things that came to me in life have been unexpected, unplanned by me. It feels really great , but still 6th sem is yet to come. I will give credit to my professor, coordinator, parents and every one who has been part of my journey .
Did you prepare any timetable and please share your study strategy/exam tips to crack each subject of sem 5?
Advance planning is always better not only for studies but also for where life is concerned .
Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?
No I haven’t joined any classes. In fact I would suggest not to. Because when you do mistake by yourself, its best method to learn especially for paper like fm.
What was your specialization subject? Why did you opt for it?
I am good in finance but I had to opt for marketing because the college was not providing finance option.
Can you list the textbooks you referred for all subjects?
I used different text books Himalaya, Sheth, Rishab…it actually depends on which subject.
Which was your worst paper? Why? Which was your best paper? Why?
I really liked fm paper because it was only paper you were putting your best effort even when last warning bell rang. It was fun in fact .
My worst paper was ethics because I didn’t paid much attention to it.
Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?
First of all marks don’t make career. It’s your potential, ability and confidence do best in whatever you are in. I mean even after 6 months you yourself will not remember how much marks you got… so be calm, patience, be easy going, have fun and trust me this days are not going to come again.
The Black Book project contributing a significant part to the percentage, please share the experiences you had during the preparation of the project and how has it benefited you.
The project gave a wide knowledge where you want to go ahead. Interacting with industrial people and all other sources gave a extension of what we are going to do so I am really thankful to people who played their role in project .
Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS? What are your future plans?
I am preparing for IBPS and will be doing job after 2 months.
Any tips and advises for your juniors?
