Interview with Sasikala N. Yadhava, TYBMS Sem 5 Topper 2013-14, K.P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce who scored 74%.
How does it feel to be a Topper in the university exams? Whom will you credit your success to? What was your success mantra?
I am feeling great to be a topper . Credit for my success goes to my parents and my teachers who were always there to support me. My success mantra was “Practice makes man perfect”.
Did you prepare any timetable and please share your study strategy/exam tips to crack each subject of sem 5?
I didn’t follow any specific strategies . I just believe on my hardwork. Whenever I was free I used to practice FM and SSF; this helped me a lot in solving FM paper.
Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?
No need of coaching classes if students attend lectures properly in college. But I had joined classes for FM and SSF.
What was your specialization subject? Why did you opt for it?
Special Studies in Finance . I opted this because I am good in practical subjects as compared to theory subjects.
Can you list the textbooks you referred for all subjects?
HRM- Rishab publication
Service Sector- Rishab publication
FM- No specific text book
Logistics- Rishab publication
SSF- No specific text book
Which was your worst paper? Why? Which was your best paper? Why?
Ethics was my worst paper because of my health issues I was not prepared properly. Service Sector and SSF was best paper because those papers were very easy,
Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?
I didn’t use any special techniques for stress management because I didn’t allow myself to get stressful as I tried to complete my portion well in advance. According to me committing suicide for such a reason is foolishness. If a student fails an exam he just has to clear the KT EXAM next time. But if he commits suicide he is failure in his whole life. There is a big difference in failure in an exam and failure in life. Failing in exam doesn’t mean failure in whole life.
The Black Book project contributing a significant part to the percentage, please share the experiences you had during the preparation of the project and how has it benefited you.
My black book topic is a topic which I always wanted to know about it in detail . My Topic was “Midday Meal Programme By Iskcon Food Relief Foundation”. My experience during making the project was awesome as I visited their place personally and collected data.
Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS? What are your future plans?
I used to do part time internship with a coaching class. My future plan is to become a good manager.
Any tips and advises for your juniors?
My tips are be sincere, believe in your hardwork and keep on trying till you succeed.
