Marijuana was legalized in the state of Colorado on 16 September ,2013 .It came into effect from 1st january,2014 . Reports have gone down a whopping 65 % ,while staunch extremists are saying ,Colorado’s successes and failures with regulating Marijuana will shape perceptions of legalization for voters . Pot,by the way is the third most popular recreational drug in America,after alcohol and tobacco.
1. Retail weed will have a 25 % state tax plus the usual sales of 2.9 %
2.Users can share an ounce of cannabis with a friend ,as long as no money is exchanged .
3. You wont be allowed to smoke pot in public.
4. You can grow up to 6 plants in your home.
5. The state’s Department of Revenue reports that marijuana retailers sold nearly19 million in recreational weed in March 2014,up from 14 million in February .
6.Over the same time period,crime in Denver has slightly declined .
7 . Medicinal weed in Colorado still requires a physician’s recommendation and the dispensaries will be separate outlets from the recreational pot retailers .
Reports are being filtered in Colorado,with marijuana legalization can successfully generate revenue for both the local economy and government .
