Dosa a mouthwatering staple dish is widely popular in all south Indian states such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka etc. Dosa is a fermented crepe or pancake made from rice batter& black lentils. This traditional Indian dish is being now served in many countries such as Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Singapore etc.

Dosa is a common breakfast dish & a common street food rich in carbohydrates, & contains no sugar or saturated fats. As its constituent ingredients are rice & urad dal, it is gluten free & becomes a complete protein& its fermentation process increases the vitamin B & vitamin C contents. Which makes it a highly nutritious dish & almost fat free.

Dosa is a dish which can be made more delicious & more nutritious just by ones taste or flavors which one like. Many common & traditional dosa available are Masala dosa i.e. stuffed with potato & herbs. Onion dosa i.e. finely chopped onion is placed on dosa & there are cheese dosa, Mysore masala, & the list is endless & it purely depends on one’s imagination & taste.

As Mumbai is a foodie city i.e. people of this city loves food & is always in search of new tastes & variety. Traditionally the dosa’s are made in a handful of varieties but as mumbaikars are always in search of new flavors. So in Mumbai more than 50 varieties of dosa’s are available on the streets of Mumbai as well as in the Restaurants. The popular varieties of dosa’s available in Mumbai are Chinese Dosa, Manchurian Dosa, Bhaji Dosa(i.e. pav bhaji(another very popular street food)), Noodle Dosa, Schezwan Dosa, Pizza Dosa, Chocolate Dosa, Mexican Dosa, Tandoori Aloo Dosa, Paneer Tikka Dosa, Jinny Dosa & the list has been just started with many other varieties & for non-veg lovers there is Chicken Dosa, Fish Dosa etc etc.
