An Interview wth Sagar Balu Gaikwad, TYBMS Sem 5 Topper, Bunts Sangha Mumbai Anna Leela College of Commerce & Economics, Shobha Jayaram Shetty college for BMS (75.85%)
I am Sagar Gaikwad and I am topper of my college since last 2 years and this year also. I like to read books. Books are my close friends. I would credit my success to my mom, my teacher Prof. Susan, Prof. Sachin, Prof. Yashoda, my family specially my elder brother Vishwas and my friends Amey and Avinash and others also. I prepared from day one from our first lecture in T.Y.BMS i.e. HRM. If students study from starting then it easy to manage all things and to reduce the exam pressure also. I was doing my study as per my timetable atleast 5 hrs in a day. My timetable usually includes those subjects which are difficult for me like logistics. If you want to crack the subject then student should keep their eye on last year’s papers and the questions which are coming repeatedly in the exam. Make your own pattern of writing especially at the time of attempting 10 marks questions draw a diagram which will make your answer different from others. Student should not waste their time in canteen a lot and only required time should spent in the canteen. And without studying every subject is difficult. It depends upon the students’ level of understanding whether he requires the classes or not. The subject like Financial management and Special study in finance requires classes and more practice as well as guidance from teachers. I was not participating in my college events. But it is not true that if a person participating in college activities then he will score less or fail. I was not doing any additional course and internship alongwith BMS. For those students one tip is if you don’t remember what you are reading then just read till the last minute of exam and before 1 month of exam start revision.
And whenever your teacher going to start a new topic in the subject just read that topic at home once it will increase the power of understanding.
Mediation is one way to reduce stress and to increase concentration power.
I don’t think number of Industrial visits should be increased for BMS Students. If a student having proper time management then it is easy to manage this entire thing.
In BMS, colleges should take more presentation from student which will make their communication skills good and increase their confidence. Message for the next batch is “ If U Want To Just Clear Your Bms Concentrate On Last Year’s Repeated Question And Attempt Every Question In The Exam And Be Present In Your College Lecture ”
Only refer those books which books your prof are using and then if you need more guidance then only refer other publications. After BMS, Job for a year and then I will go for my MBA. If I will get the opportunity and guidance I will start my own enterprise.
