One of the most important points to discuss is about the poor academic performance of students.AS the students are the future of any country. The more powerful the student population is, the country is expected to be the more powerful in the coming future.
The Question here is who to blame for the poor result or performance of the student, the teacher or the society or government, or parents, or the student himself?
I would say, each one of them is equally responsible for the deterioration of students. As each one of them plays an important role in bringing up the student in his life and his personality too.
A responsibility lies with the following:-
Teacher: – The teacher is the person with whom the students spend most of the time other than being in home. Teachers are the way through which students get information or ideas which could correct their thinking, ideas or beliefs regarding some particular thinking or aspects. The thing is, teacher should be able to make the students understand the concepts. Teachers should be able to know the capacity of understanding power of the student and then should teach them by coming according to their level. It is teacher’s responsibility to identify whether the student has really understood the concept by making them write tests, asking oral questions, etc.
Parents: – Majority of parents thinks that their responsibility towards education of children is over just by admitting them into schools and the further responsibility of the education of children lies in the hands of schools and teachers. In fact, they are very wrong. Parents play a significant role in shaping their educational qualities and educations. Active participation of parents is must for the students to be successful.
The one simple thing that parents should do to assist in the formal education of their child is to take an interest in all aspects of their child’s school activities: academics, extra-curricular activities and relationships. This means to help them with their homework and know what they are doing in class. It means getting them involved in school sports teams, music, drama, clubs etc. in short knowing how their child interacts with others, and if they need direction parents should be always with him backing him.
Student himself: – The responsibility of one’s educational or academic performance lies on the shoulder of the student. Poor performance can be the responsibility of teacher or parents as well but what if both of them are worth responsible and the students is performing badly? It is all about the laziness of the student behind his studies, which result in bad or poor performance. Student should always participate in lectures physically and mentally. Not only participating in lectures but also revising those portions after coming home, which would make the student, understand the concept more clearly. In addition, timely completion of notes, asking for doubts, etc lies in the hands of the students through which he could attain knowledge and even good results.
If each of the responsible people does their responsibility properly, then question of poor performance would never arise and the results will always be positive.
