Primary And Secondary Dimensions Of Individual Differences: The different dimensions of individual differences have been classified as primary and secondary dimensions of individual differences.

A.      PRIMARY DIMENSION: Personal characteristics such as age, gender, physical and mental ability have an important and sustained impact throughout our lives.

B.      SECONDARY DIMENSION: Characteristics that people acquire/discard/modify throughout their lives are known as Secondary Dimension of Individual characteristics. These consist of family status, education, work experience, organizational role, work style, communication style and attitude.

 

Since, personality is partly subject to modifications, it is partly included in Primary direction and partly in secondary direction.
