Life – An Unpredictable journey…

gopinath munde

The sudden and untimely death of Gopinath Munde has shocked and saddened a lot of people. Maharashtra is mourning the death of a nice man and honorable leader. But his death has brought a few thoughts in my mind. Don’t many people die in India in road accidents? Yes I know his wasn’t the rash driving and horrible disaster accident but the cause of his death was merely an accident. Such accidents happen daily on different streets in India. Most of them are reported in news channels and published in papers but none appear on prime time television maybe because people who die or are injured are common people and not of national importance.

What happened with Mr. Munde was terrible and is a great loss not only for BJP but to the entire nation. But what happened wasn’t really uncommon in Delhi, the city is known for rash drivers and people who do not follow any traffic discipline. In fact India needs to really think on the lines of road safety, driving discipline, etc as the absence of it is not only causing national loss but claiming a lot of common lives too.

The RTO and traffic police are somewhere falling short of resources and it is very evident by the lives claimed in accidents. The safety of individuals is of utmost importance and thus this ruthlessness in driving cannot be tolerated. Somewhere it is also the fault of individuals since none of us are used to wearing seat belts. Only those sitting in the front wear seat belts that too mostly because we don’t want to pay a fine to the traffic police. Had Mr. Munde worn a seat belt than he could have been alive today and maybe been instrumental in changing the face of rural India.

One thing is certain that life is really unpredictable and none of us know what’s gonna happen next. However the least we can do us take every security and preventive measure. We should make a sincere attempt in safeguarding our life as accidents do not happen with prior knowledge. We shouldn’t risk our life as its precious; having said that death is destiny and will come to each one as designed by God or karma.

May Mr. Gopinath Munde’s soul rest in peace and we shouldn’t let his death go in vain and learn a very important lesson from it.
