1) Your resume should be laser-print on high quality paper and include a 1-page cover letter.
2) Your resume should be a short one-page focused resume with honest goals and credentials.
3) The best item to include at the top of your resume (besides your name) is the specific job title for which you are applying.
4) Address in your resume all the description and credentials listed in the job profile.
5) Keep your resume attractive and hand over 2-3 copies of your updated resume.
1) In the first sentence, state why you are excited about the job and why you are the right fit.
2) Gain their attention – be specific, get to the point and don’t have a generic opening.
3) Know the person whom you are writing to and get away with “To Whom It May Concern”.
4) Know your value – talk to a few people in the company and industry, tell a story of how you saw a problem and how you solved it and how you can do the same for them.
5) Put in 2-5 bullets that proves you can deliver results. Bullets also make the letter easy and simple to read and quantify your accomplishments as much as possible.
