Job Enrichment is the attempt to build into jobs a higher sense of challenge and achievement. A job may be enriched by variety.
Job can also be enriched by:
1. Giving workers more freedom in deciding about such things as work methods,
sequence, and pace or the acceptance or rejection of materials.
2. Encouraging participation of subordinates and interaction between workers.
3. Giving workers a feeling of personal responsibility for their tasks.
- Taking steps to make sure that workers can see how their tasks contribute to a finished product and the welfare of an enterprise.
- Giving people feedback on their job performance, preferably before their supervisors get it.
- Involving workers in the analysis and change of physical aspects of the work environment, such as layout of office or plant, temperature, lighting, and cleanliness.
