What are the limitations on investment in mutual funds?

Limitations of Investment in Mutual Funds :
(1) The investors are likely to come in difficulties if the mutual fund (in which funds are
invested) is not managed efficiently. The rate of return will go down and the
investment may become risky.
(2) The investors have no direct control on their investment as the investment policies
are decided by the trustees.
(3) Investors of mutual fund are not given adequate information about the functioning of
their mutual fund. They get the information about irregularities, etc. when it is too late
to introduce remedial measures.
(4) The future of mutual fund investor is linked with the future of mutual fund. An investor
may suffer because of mismanagement of the mutual fund.
(5) The expectations (as regards return on investment) of investors are fast growing in
the case of mutual funds but the managers of mutual funds find it hard to meet such
high expectations of investors.
