Academic Council in its meeting held on 25/05/2011 vide item no. 4.102 i.e. “The learner who does not appear for both the Internal Assessment & Semester End Examination shall not be eligible to appear for the additional Semester End Examination” may be replaced by “the learner who remains absent with the prior permission of the Principal of the College / Head of the Institution may be permitted to appear for the Additional Semester End Examination”.
(The logic being we are conducting the odd semester examinations with odd semester and the even semester examination with even semester and also traditionally we were giving students two chances in a year to appear for the examination. Thus a student who does not appear in the internal assessment and has appeared for the Semester End Examination and failed in one/more courses at Semester End Examination is eligible to appear for the additional examination for both the Internal and the Semester End where as a student who has not appeared for the Internal & Semester End is not eligible which I feel is depriving the later of a chance to appear for the examination.)
