While CAT 2013 Results were declared few days before, all 8 toppers who scored 100 percentile in the CAT exam were male and have a engineering background.
4 of them are from Andhra Pradesh, 3 from Mumbai and 1 from Delhi. Of the 10 candidates who scored 99.99 percentile, only 1 was a woman.

1) Abhiram Iyer –
- Abhiram hails from Kalyan.
- He had scored 99.4 and 98.99 percentile in his first and second attempts respectively.
- Abhiram’s age is 23 and he has completed his engineering graduation.
- He had taken up a job in Ashok Leyland, Chennai and solved as many CAT papers to get this percentile.
- He feels technical knowledge is not enough and hence, a master’s degree from IIM is required.
2) Karthik Kumar –
- Karthik Kumar ‘s age is 22 and he hails from Vijaywada.
- He had a BTech and MTech degree in metallurgy and materials from IIT Kharagpur.
- Last year, he had scored 99.35 percentile.
- He had worked with Oracle at Hyderabad as an application developer for the past 6 months.
- He feels IIT background is important to crack the CAT.
3) Siva Surya Teja –
- Siva Surya Teja hails from Samalkot, Andhra Pradesh and his age is 24.
- In his first attempt, he had scored 89 percentile.
- He holds a BTech degree in Computer Science from Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University, Anantapur.
- He is currently working as a Systems Engineer with Infosys at Hyderabad.
- His strength was mathematics and weakness was verbal section.
- He feels engineering gives a wider perspective to CAT.
