Lourdes is a small market town lying in the foothills of the Pyrenees, famous for the Our Lady of Lourdes, the most prominent feature of the town was the fortified castle that rises up from a rocky escarpment at its center.
Today Lourdes has a population of around 15,000, but it is able to take in some 5,000,000 pilgrims and tourists every season. Other attractions include the Rosary Basilica and fort in Lourdes.
Vast yachts obscure the view and the town lives up to its motto, “Life is a festival.” Famous for the Cannes film festival that hosts celebrities and previews of movies from different genres all around the world the city was first popularized by Coco Chanel and famous landmarks include Promenade De La Croste, St. Marguerite island, St. Honarat island and not to forget the famous luxury shops and Dine In…
