QWL is a prescriptive concept which attempts to design work environment so as to maximize concern for human welfare. According to Lloyd Suttle,” Quality of work life is the degree to which members of a work organization are able to satisfy important personnel needs through their experiences in the organization.” The four essential elements of QWL are:-
- The program seeks to promote human dignity and growth.
- Employees work collaboratively.
- They determine work changes participatively.
- The program assumes compatibility of people and organizational goals.
