Output devices include your monitor, printer, and speakers. Monitors provide a “soft” copy of the output (meaning an electronic copy) and the printer provides a “hard” copy. Monitors and printers are distinguished by their resolution. Resolution is the number of addressable points on the screen or the number of dots per unit on the printed device. The higher the resolution, the larger the number of points, the better the quality of the output. Speakers are used to hear sound from the computer.
