The written test will be of objective type and of total of 200 Marks. Total questions will be 200 and a total time of 150 mins will be allotted for these questions.

- Note that option of Hindi Language is available only in States of category A & B. There are three categories A, B and C in which ‘C’ category states do not have Hindi as their official language so candidates will not have this option and English will be mandatory for them.
- Candidates after passing the exam will be eligible for RRBs in states under the category they have applied for (A/B Or C). States in respective category as per official languages act are
- Category AÂ – Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand States and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, National Capital Territory of Delhi Union Territories.
- Category BÂ – Gujarat, Maharashtra and Punjab States and Chandigarh Union Territory
- Category CÂ – All other States and Union Territories not included in the A and B Regions
- There will be Negative Marking for wrong answers of .25 of the total marks for the question.
