Hemis Festival is celebrated in the month of July 2014 to commemorate the birth of Guru Padmasambhava who founded Tantric Buddhism in Tibet. It is celebrated at the 300-year old Buddhist monastery of Hemis Jangchub Choling near Leh. It is one of the biggest and richest Buddhist Moastery in the Ladakh region.
