Facing problems in using the Google search because of accent issues? No more, as Google voice search now understands the Indian accent. All you have to do is, go to the settings of the search app, select English (India).
Google has announced that its search products understand the Indian accent for voice search query. The same can be done for SMS and emails also. This feature runs on devices having Android 2.3 Gingerbread and beyond the iOS search app.
Google’s voice typing can be enables by going into settings-language and input and selecting Google voice typing. The Google keyboard app can be used to launch the microphone for voice typing on SMS and emails. Users will also find new paragraph and comma punctuations.
The Google Knowledge graph has also been improved. For instance, Google understands questions like “Who starts in phir bhi dil hai Hindustani?” and presents a list of the entre star cast.
Alreadt Google’s search app was quite adept at understanding the Indian accent and now it has further improved the experience. Contrastingly, Apple’s Siri coughs up mixed results and does not boast official compatibility for the Indian accent. Even Microsoft’s Cortana voice assistant is not officially available in India as currently there is no support for Indian speech patterns.
