BS 7799
British Standard for Information Security which was re-issued in 1999 in two parts. Part 1 is the code of practice for Information Security Management and Part 2 specifies the requirements for implementing information security in compliance with the code of practice. In October 2000, BS 7799 was elevated to being a standard of the international standards organization (ISO) standard – ISO 17799.
