Advantages of Road Transport

Road transport offers certain advantages like

1.      i.        Door to door service to customers which neither rail nor neither sea nor air transport can offer.
2.    ii.        On per unit basis, the cost of making a road is 1/6^th that of laying a railway line.
3. Capital investment in case of railways is much less then railways designed to carry equivalent quantum of traffic.
4.  iv.        Road transport provides employment to six million persons (two million direct and four million indirect)
