1)    Functional

1. Has a competency in one of the aspects of management functions like HR / Finance / Marketing

2)    Specialist

1. Has core competency in one of aspects of the functional management

3)    Generalist

1. Has a competency in running a business

4)    Line & Staff

1. Line manager is accountable for results. Example: Production / Marketing.
2. Their outcomes are measurable
3. Staff manager is accountable for quality & timely resources. Example: HR / Finance / Materials / Engineering
