Drishti 2013 – Believe We Can!

Drishti, the first intercollegiate youth festival  of N.M. College is a perfect blend of knowledge and realism, intellect and common sense. It is a dream of over  150 dedicated, committed and motivated members who work together as a team to make Drishti a success. Drishti is put together by students of BMS, BAF, BFM and BSC-I.T inviting participants from various courses over  125 colleges all over India, providing them with a unique platform for exploration and application of their abilities.  What gives a boost to their eagerness is our uniqueness i.e Drishti is synonymous with one-of-a-kind events which area mix of management, fun, sports, cultural and business.There is something in store for everybody’s wish list. These events test students on various different parameters thereby fulfilling both the management and fun quotient of Drishti. Drishti also has a 13 year old tradition of coming up with noble themes every year. Keeping in mind its social responsibilities Drishti associates itself with a NGO every year. In the previous years, Drishti was associated with UNICEF,PETA< Being Human. This year Drishti wanted to make a bigger impact and hence associated with not only one but two big NGO’S-MAGIC BUS and YouWeCan.

Magic Bus steers children towards a better life with better awareness, better life skills and better opportunities in the journey from childhood to livelihood. Magic Bus has 3 stage program- LEARNING,LRADING and EARNING that makes its NGO one of the best  not only in India but also Internationally. Their Activity Based Curriculum (ABC)  is a unique model that uses gamesz to make change . 40 sessions per year – each with a lesson, teach children about education, gender, health, and key issues affecting them. The games excel in building physical, social, and personal skills . local youth volunteers are trained to be mentors and role models to other children. They conduct ABC  sessions and act as catalysts for community change. The children and youth grow up becoming confident, respected and responsible. Their Connect Program bridges the gap between possibility and opportunity through access to training and courses. Nearly all the youth end up pursuing higher studies and/or enrolling in our employability program.

YouWeCan is here to generate awareness and facilitate early Detection of Cancer. They aim to reach out to one and all to engage with the disease and fight to WIN. The spread is fast and wide and we will endeavour control through early detections for which we will also produce facilities across the country.. it is a long . tough journey , but they believe, together You & We can Fight Cancer. The very word conjures up visions of pain and suffering. If any disease  has made itself an enemy of man, it is this one.Cancer may come in many forms but its outcome has always been damaging. The medical fraternity counts cancer as one of its greatest foe. It is the 2^nd largest life taker today and kills over 12 million people every year. There is  however, a silver lining, cancer, like other diseases can be cured. If diagnosed early and treated right, its effects can be reversed, lives can be saved. Yuvraj Singh Foundation (YSF) through its in itiative YOUWECAN is here to endeavour that cancer is detected at an early stage, for one and all, and no one has to fight cdancer alone.

This year our campaign “BELIEVE..WE CAN” hopes to change many lives and make a difference. The origin of our social campaign lies in the belief that each one of us shares certain core values, beliefs, dreams and the ability to make a difference. Our social campaign will be held on the 23^rd and 24^th January between 10am-5pm in the college premises. Our multi dimensional social campaign not only plans to create an impact but also has a lot of entertainment in store for you. We will kickstart our social campaign with:

1. Blood donation camp to be held on both the days of the social campaign
2. Donation drive to collect stationery, toys, books and clothes for the children of Magic Bus.
3. Awareness sessions on cancer by experts.
4. Interactive sessions to promote the cause of Magic Bus.
5. Special performances by the children of Magic Bus in the college premises.
6. Invitation to volunteer for the causes of Magic Bus.
7. A gaming zone to provide entertainment to all college students and promoting our social cause.
