It means the writing of a person’s name (otherwise than as maker) on the face or back of a negotiable instrument or on a slip of paper (called alloonge) annexed thereto, for the purpose of negotiation (Sec. 15). The person who signs the instrument is called the “indorser’. The person to whom the instrument is indorsed is called the ‘indorsee’.
