What are Accounting profits?

0

Accounting profits are subject to ambiguous interpretation because of the broad latitude provided by generally accepted accounting principles. The accounting profit concept does not consider some important economic costs, such as the opportunity cost of the capital invested by owners.  Finally, accounting profit concepts may not be reflective of the actual cashflows collected and paid by a company over time, especially when one considers differential methods of computing deprecation and of inventory valuation.
