Several BMS students from Mumbai University, who cleared their fifth-semester exam held in October after revaluation, and passed, are still awaiting their marksheets.
This has delayed their final year results. The students, who failed after revaluation and have appeared for their ATKT (allowed to keep term) exam, have already got their marksheets. A student of Bandra’s St Andrew’s College claimed that the delay in getting her final-year marksheet is affecting her admissions to MBA courses. “Colleges are refusing to accept my applications as I am yet to get my final year marksheet,” said the student. These students appeared for their fifth-semester exams in October last year.
A student, who scored an aggregate of 73%, flunked the financial management paper in her fifth semester. “After revaluation, I was told that I had cleared. The results of revaluation were announced only a week before the sixth-semester exam was to start. Though I got the corrected scores, I am yet to get the marksheet from the university,” said the student.
The students appeared for their sixth-semester exam in April. However, their final-year results have been withheld as their fifth-semester marksheets have not been processed. An affected student from a college in the western suburbs said, “My friend who failed after revaluation has appeared for the ATKT paper and has already got her results.”
However, a university official claimed that there were not many such cases.
“The numbers are not many.I will look into the complaints,” said pro-vice-chancellor NareshChandra. Dean of commerce MadhuNair said, “Colleges can take a copy of the online consolidated score card and send it to the university with a covering letter. The university will issue the fresh marksheet soon.” He added that the university is planning to have a centralized assessment process system for revaluation to avoid such delays.A college principal said papers in self-finance courses like BMS and BSc-IT experience many changes after revaluation.
