It seems that the gene’s of Iqbal Kaskar has no way been different from that of his mafia brother Dawood Ibrahim. Recently the criminal was arrested, the inside facts of this happening are as follows:
- Kaskar was arrested for extortion on 3rd day of February
- He was found extorting a sum of rupees 3 lakh from a real estate agent in Byculla and also assaulted him.
- Charges added against Kaskar are
- Section 387 (for threatening to kill to commit extortion)
- Section 342 (wrongful confinement)
- Section 327 (causing hurt to extort property)
- Section 502(6) (criminal intimidation)
per the Indian Penal Code.
- Shyam Keswani, culprit’s lawyer said that the charges put on his client were “after thought” because the earlier charges were bailable. His words-“This is a fabrication and an afterthought by the police and shows the viciousness of the police officer. These charges were not mentioned in the first FIR. They must have destroyed the first FIR and fabricated a new one.“
- The police however demanded for the extension of custody of Iqbal in order to extract call data records from the cell phones and also check the CCTV footage.
- After proper analysis the police came to a conclusion that on 30th January the victim real estate agent got a call from saying Kaskar wanted to meet him to which he denied and so Shabbir Sheikh picked up the victim and took him to Iqbal and was asked to pay a lump-sum of rupees 3 lakhs to which the victim denied and so he has hit in his ears and threatened to kill for the same and gave a deadline of one week.
- The victim is receiving a treatment in JJ and Nair hospital as he complained for hearing loss

- Before this case Kaskar was already behind the bars for a murder and conspiracy when he came to India in 2003 from UAE and also three years ago he was in news to escape unhurt after being shot.
