When you took about Badminton for men the two names that come to our minds is of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. These two men’s have proved to be undefeated most of the time in the famous sport of Badminton. The recent news from the world of Badminton is that the 8th time champion Rafael Nadal celebrates his victory in men’s single match against Dominic thiem of Austria on day five of the French open at Roland. The champion made a fantastic score of 6-2, 6-2, and 6-3 on Thursday.
Nadal only faced defeat once at Roland Garros was in Fourth round against Robin Soderling five years ago. But this time the champ was all set to win, he was never at danger of losing this time, but was occasionally on the back foot as Thiem went for his shots throughout the match and broke the top-seeded Nadal’s serve twice.
“It was a dangerous match, dangerous opponent today, I m happy with the way I resisted. When I had to play long points I did well. When I had to attack and move him, I think I did well. Dominic is a dangerous player and I knew that if I wasn’t playing well then I’d be in trouble, but he is future star his level of ball is very high; he is strong on the forehead and backhand. He has everything to be in Champion” – Says Nadal
Dominic Thiem is also a true sports man who trains for big matches by running through forest carrying tree trunks to build stamina and so wining against such a dedicated player is a big thing for Nadal. Theim had beaten Australian Open Champion Stan Wawrinka in Madrid and gave 27-year old Nadal Plenty reasons to think about in an eight-minute opening game.
As we all know the true fun in playing a game is when you have a strong opponent and so we congratulate Nadal for such Fantastic win!
