Leadership Style Required in 21st Century : Earlier HR people used to evaluate a person on the basis of two quotients – Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and Emotional Quotient (EQ). IQ measures logical and reasoning power of an individual while EQ measures the degree to which an individual is empathetic, compassionate and respond appropriately to pleasures and pain. However, in the global environment of 21st century, in addition to IQ and EQ, one has to have Social Quotient (SQ) which measures the way in which a leader connects him with others and develops a team spirit. A person with high SQ is a complete human being maintaining a balance between professional and personal life.
