First of all, A Hearty Congratulations to you on this Brilliant Success…!!

  • Tell us about yourself and your college

My name is Ruksar Kasu, pursuing BMS degree in S. K. Somaiya College of Arts, Science and Commerce and I am really very proud to be a part of such a great institution in whole of Mumbai.

I completed my junior college in commerce stream in K.J. Somaiya college of Science and Commerce with flying colors. Then to pursue my graduation I opted to join S.K. Somaiya College of Arts, Science and Commerce.

Before joining I didn’t know anything about how would be the experience in S.K. Somaiya College but after taking admission for BMS in my college I was very satisfied with my performance and there was a great improvement in my leadership skills and vocabulary.

All this was done just because of all hard working professors of my college. Keeping in mind “knowledge is the most democratic source of power” our professors molded us to face the outside world with which we were made able to handle the situation more intellectually and with great outcomes.

Thanking all my professors and great principal that they help us in achieving.

  • How did you plan to get into BMS?

After my HSC exams, I was very confused about which course I should pursue with, but to overcome this confusion I got help from my beloved father. I talked about this with my father and he provided me a right guidance by asking me about my future goals.(Which is to become manager in Human Resource, HR).I got to know from my father how BMS can act as basic foundation with regards to my further studies.

BMS, a rising course, is very helpful for the students who wish to become a Manager in future as a part of the syllabus is covered in it.

Keeping this in mind and the guidance which I received from my “Papa” I opted to go for BMS.

  • Is the BMS syllabus just what you had expected it to be?

I think the answer is No. I have observed students who want some practical knowledge about the real life situation rather than only studying theoretical answers. I want it to be more practical rather than theoretical.

  • Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?

Seriously speaking i didn’t expect to top in the exams. But the main credit for this success goes to my parents and my well wishers who have provided a strong support and have always motivated me to perform well. Apart from all this I would like to give a special credit to the hard work and efforts contributed by all my teachers, faculties and coordinator and principal without whom it was not possible for me to achieve this.

  • Did you start preparing right from the first day of your BMS?

Frankly telling I didn’t start preparing for BMS from first day itself. But i always took my studies very seriously. I always used to prepare well for my internals and externals.

  • How did you allot time to different subjects?

I had made a self-timetable for myself. I didn’t allot any specific duration for any subject whichever subject i feel hard and difficult I spent more time on that subject. I haven’t joined any coaching classes.

  • Did you participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities?

Of course, Yes, I am in the hospitality department of our college BMS fest “ZENITH – an epitome of success.”

  • Do you think a BMS student can manage both studies and extra activities?

Yes, because I feel that it’s the best way to make practical use of the knowledge which you have acquired in BMS.

  • Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?

Today, students committing suicide is a serious problem. Students who commit suicide forget the basic saying that “from cradle to grave life is a struggle.”Life is full of ups and downs. There is no special technique of mine for stress management.

But one thing i will like to share with my friends that whenever there is some problem or failure we should always have a positive attitude. We should keep on contributing and putting our best efforts as much as possible and last but not least we should have faith in god as he is aware of the efforts contributed by us and will surely provide us the deserving results.

  • Industrial Visits – are they really informative for Bms students? Which industries have you visited?

Industrial visits, so called as IV’s are very helpful for the students. The students get a good knowledge and a practical knowledge about how a production unit carries its functioning in a proper and a systematic manner.

From my college I have visited two IV’s one in Chinch wad (Pune city) in a Rubber manufacturing company and the second IV I visited was in Jaipur in a crockery factory.

  • Do you think a BMS student is more flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams?

Yes it is more flooded with assignments, projects and internal But it is good for us at the end.….

  • Do you like being busy with projects, presentations, assignments and internal exams? Or you would like to be enjoying out with friends all that time instead?

No, not all the times. I think that there should be a proper balance between such work allotted and time required for such work. This proper balance will help to gather more experience and knowledge through it. Friends, i like hanging out and enjoying with them. But not at the cost of my studies and my parent’s dreams.

  • What changes would you like to bring in management education in India?

Management education of India is good. But it can be best by utilizing the upcoming technologies and better ways of teaching. There are scopes of innovation at each and every point.

  • What message would you like to give to the coming batches of BMS students?

Always be confident and always think that you have made a right decision by choosing BMS course. BMS course can provide you ample of knowledge with regards to our management studies. Please study hard and never consider studies as a burden.

  • What are your future plans?

After T.Y.B.M.S, i have decided to do job in a reputed organization and at same time i would like to continue with my studies for various entrances like CAT, etc.

  • Your Feedback for is a very good and helpful site. It is doing very good jobs by providing ample of information about recent happening and events; and provides news which is helpful for BM SITES. It helps BMS students by sharing BMS experiences, tips, advises, interviews of core faculty members, BMS coordinators, Principals and various students.

Thank You for being so honest with your answers and giving us your valuable time. I’m sure reading this interview would be a great help and inspiration for the students.

Congratulations once again and wish you all the very best for you career!
