Tell us about yourself.

I talk less observe more, live to eat, always available for help, mathematics lover,

Muhammad Ali  and Jim Carrey fan, soft spoken and believe in the fact that, hard work always pays off.

Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?

No, I didn’t expect neither did I try, I just gave my best shot. I would like to credit this success to my parents, teachers and my friends,  who predicted that I would be rank one.

Did you prepare religiously from day One or A few weeks before the exams?

I was regular in college, gave my class tests seriously and religiously did the homework give by our teachers,

Kept myself updated with all the subjects during the entire semester. Hardcore studies began a month before exams.

How did you allot time to different subjects?

Yes I had my own self made time table which had theory subjects in the day and practical subjects at night. Study duration was around 6 to 7 hrs during the month before our exams.

Practical subjects were always on my priority list as they can fetch you 60/60.

IF, OR, portfolio were studied by me almost every day.

Can you share some insights on how to crack the subjects before exams?

Theory subjects— make sure you know all concepts, take college tests seriously, refer to past papers, add examples, draw diagrams, neatness, underline important points and prepare for the most obvious questions well in advance, it will save huge amount of time during the final exams

Practical subjects— stay updated, do not restrict yourself to the portion, try for a zero cancellation answer sheet and the most important

PRACTICE   PRACTICE   PRACTICE

Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?

I didn’t join any coaching class in my FY and SY as there is no need at all.

In my TY I had joined coaching classes for practical subjects like OR ,IF and portfolio as you need tremendous amount of practice to excel in them.

Did you participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities? Do you think a BMS student can manage both studies and extra activities?

I did not participate in any college fest, but was the General Secretary of my college and represented my college at the Indian Student’s Parliament, and organized a seminar for the BMS section of our college.

Participation in extra-curricular activities is a subjective decision but will always act like a feather on your cap.

Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?

Students must keep in mind that exam and marks are not the end of the world and they, absolutely in no way, measure you.

Parents must also not compare performances and force their children to excel as it not only disturbs them but also makes them take such drastic steps.

Do you think the number of Industrial visits should be increased for BMS Students?

I feel the so called “industrial visits” are an absolute waste of resources, instead the BMS curriculum must have compulsory guest lectures every week from the corporate world. And yes a fun-filled one day picnic would be great.

Do you think BMS students are flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams round the clock? What changes would you like to bring in the BMS Curriculum?

Yes, we are flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams round the clock but that’s what gives us a competitive edge over other gradates, after all “no pain no gain”.

As I mentioned above, compulsory guest lectures every week from the corporate world would really be very useful and help in the long run.

What message would you like to give to the next batch of BMS students?

These three years can make or break your career, try not to lose focus , work hard , enjoy and it is very very easy to score above 80% if you study regularly.

What are the future plans post BMS?

I will be doing my MBA in Finance and plan to become an entrepreneur.
