When I read social cause I think about Non government organization, charity organizations, clean up drives etc. But then I think what we as an individual are doing socially for this beautiful world, our country our city? I don’t get a satisfactory answer. Participating once in a year for this drives and donating certain amount of money to the needy. Is that enough?
Our mother earth is giving us so many things which we can never repay her. On the other hand we pollute it more and destroy it to that extend that it cannot even replenish itself. So don’t you think we should do something at individual level to save our world and make it a better place to live on?
On 22 September the world celebrates car free day. In India we do not have any such day. A day without cars is like a nightmare to everyone. But can’t we survive a day without our cars? Is it so difficult to live without a materialistic thing? I don’t think so. If we put it into practice, it is possible. We have amazing public transport systems. Nook and corner of the city is connected by some or the other public mean of transport. If we as a youth take this responsibility to shape a better and a healthy future for our coming generations then we can do this. If the entire world can, we Indians easily can.
So let’s plan this and make it BIG. We all can unite and give it a start. A car free day once in a month, for everyone and anyone. So as to make our city greener and better.
