Did you think that beautiful hair is only the way you style it? Wrong. Yes, styling can make you and your hair look stunning for some time; but in the long run what matters are the key nutrients that make it healthy.  The secret of beautiful hair is not just the way you style it; it’s in your diet.

Here are top 5 things you should include in your diet:

1) PROTEIN:

protein rich foods
Proteins are important for strong and healthy hair. If your diet is low on protein, your hair is likely to become brittle, dry and weak. Include protein rich foods like:
Turkey, Fish(Tuna, Salmon), cheese, tofu, beans(kidney beans, black beans, white beans etc.), eggs, milk, yogurt, soymilk, nuts and seeds (almonds, peanuts, dried figs, prunes, dried apricots, raisins, watermelon seeds). Also broccoli, parsley, cauliflower, asparagus, green peas etc. are rich in Protein.

2) IRON RICH FOOD:

Iron-rich-Food
Iron is an important mineral that helps hair growth. Consumption of less iron rich foods can lead to hair loss.  Iron is available in animal products such as red meat, chicken and fish. Also lentils and vegetables like spinach, kale, broccoli and other green leafy veggies contain iron.

3) OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS:

Fruits- blueberries, strawberries, cherries;
Vegetables- spinach, broccoli, beans, cauliflower, cabbage, lettuce, peppers;
Spices & herbs- basil, oregano, mustard, peppermint, bay leaf, rosemary;
Nuts & seeds- flaxseeds, walnuts, pecans, butternuts etc.

4) VITAMIN A& C:

Assorted fruit

Vitamin A is needed to make sebum which provides natural conditioner for healthy hair. Vitamin A is available in plenty in Carrots, Sweet potatoes, pumpkins, cantaloupe melons & dark green leafy vegetables.
Vitamin C provides antioxidants and also helps in the absorption of iron and thus is good to eat. Papaya, Peas, Tomatoes, Guavas, citrus fruits, berries; Kiwi etc. are good source of Vitamin C.

5) BIOTIN:

egg yolk

Biotin is a water-soluble B vitamin essential for the body. Wholegrain, liver, egg yolks, soy flour and yeast are rich source of Biotin.

 The condition of your hair is an outward sign of your inside health. Take care and stay beautiful.
