Where BHARAT meets INDIA
Mumbai: January 25th 2012
Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts and Sangeet Sabha (SSFASS) in association with Public Concern for Governance Trust (PCGT) and Dharma Bharti Mission (DBM) arranged a convention to facilitate the understanding of how Indian youth can contribute to nation building.
The dais was adorned by all big faces including the Chief Guest for the event N. R. Narayan Murthy, the Mentor and Chairman Emeritus of Infosys Technologies Ltd. along with Julio Ribeiro, Former DGP of Delhi Police and the Chairman of PCGT; Anup Patnaik, the Commissioner of Police, Mumbai; Dr. Ajit Ranade of Asso. for Democratic Reforms; Shri. Vivek Phansalkar, Joint-CP, Traffic Police, Mumbai and actor and social activist, Rahul Bose who wonderfully addressed the audience and motivated all the youth present in the auditorium.
The words of the eminent speakers on the following topics, enthralled the audience in real terms:
- Youth for Governance
- Improvement of local governance
- Vote…YOU MUST
- Right to Information
- Police and Traffic Management
The event gained its true colour when a young girl of SIES College, Sion (W) performed a Hindu Bhajan ‘Vaishnav Jan To’ written by poet Narsimha Mehta. Later, the convention gained pace and power when a group from ‘Smita Patil Street Theatre’ performed a street play pertaining to the Youth Leadership.
The audience was remarkably mesmerized by the speeches, music performance, street play and audio-visuals presented at the convention.
