Tell us about yourself, your background, why did you join BMS and what do you plan to do after BMS? :-

I have completed my schooling from St. Sebastians High School. Then i took up science for my HSC. After cracking CET I secured a seat in KJ SOMAIYA ENGG College in IT ENGG. After completing a year in engineering i soon realized that it does not interest me, so i decided to drop out of it. Management related fields were more of my interest and priority. Thus i took admissions in BMS. After my BMS I plan to gain a year or two of experience so as to find out the field in which I excel. After that i will do MBA.

How does it feel to be a Topper of the college in Semester exams?

It feels great to be acknowledged and the fact that all the hard work and dedication does not go in vain. I feel happy to maintain my position of topper of the college throughout.

Whom will you credit your success to?

A large chunk of credit of my success goes to my super understanding parents and sister for allowing me to drop engg and follow my desires. It follows with my teachers and friends for having faith in me and supporting me.

Did you start preparing from the first day of your TY?

I did not start preparing for the exams from the first day but yes i did clear the base of every subject. Understanding the basic concepts of every subject helps a lot. Later, one just has to read the answers and he is through with it.

How did you study for Sem V?

Maintain a small diary for each subject and note down whatever is taught in the lect. Don’t note down everything, just write down the theories you conclude from that chapter. It will help you to recollect the gist of the chapter while studying for exams.

Which are the easy subjects in Sem V?

All the subjects are easy except for business statistics in sem1. Students find it a bit tough due to the technical basis of the subject.

Any special way of writing the answers? Do you write answers in bullet points or in paragraphs?

One should always write answers in points and highlight the heading of points. It becomes easy for the moderator to conclude that you know the answer.

How do you crack case studies in theory and practical subjects?

More and more practice is the only solution to deal with it.

Did you draw any diagram in any paper? Is it mandatory? Does it help to get more marks?

Yes diagrams always help to gain more marks. Diagrams can conveniently convey the matter of the answer to the person correcting it.

Any specific study pattern adopted i.e. timetable / how many hours per subject per day etc.?

An hour per day of studies is more than enough to score high percentage. Discuss the answers with friends and correct each other on their mistakes.

Many students prepare sincerely but constantly live under fear that they are not from big college / not from English medium and eventually lose confidence. What message would you like to these students?

Ahh, it does not matter what ultimately matters is marks and knowledge. One should be confident about himself and his knowledge. Not even marks, only knowledge paves the way for success.

Through this struggle and success, what have you learned? What is the wisdom of life and competition? What is your message to the upcoming BMS students?

I have learned the art of understanding things by brainstorming. I have learned how to work in a team, how to solve my personal issues using the techniques’ I have learned in this course. My advice to future BMS students is, pursue this course only if it interests you, go through the course modules and decide. ALL THE BEST to all the futures students.
