  • Tell us something about yourself ?

I don’t want to emphasize more on my education, but to put it down on a piece of paper, it can be something wherein I did my secondary schooling from Ryan International School and Higher Secondary from DAV Public School. Currently, I’m pursuing International Cyber Law and actively involved in spreading the awareness of the same amongst the youth.

  • Tell us something about your business.

Blogathon is a fresh venture, which started with a vision of creating the largest community of bloggers in India. It is a two day workshop where participants, regardless of their age and education, learn to start-up their blogs over a weekend. It is not an event or a conference, where people speak and others clap; instead it’s a real-time hackathon where everyone builds their blogs right from the scratch.

Following are the primary protocols that are covered during the 2-days weekend workshop:

·         Building Blocks of Blog (Understanding Hosting and Domain)
·         Introduction to WordPress Blogging Platform
·         Overview of Plugins and Themes (Designing)
·         How to Get Traffic on Newly Published Blog
·         Social Media Insights
·         Monetization of Blogs
·         Cyber Laws (under IT Act 2000) for using Social Media Platforms and Blogging platforms.

  • What is your philosophy towards work?

It’s as simple as this – I do what I love! And fortunately, my team is so dedicated that they enjoy the work they do and this instills the dedication in their work.

  • Whom do you admire as your role model? And why?

My role model is my mother. She has been the most inspirational person in my life. Be it difficult days or hard times, she has been the ladder of support and a ray of hope for me.

  • “Management is core to every individual, organization & society.” Give your views on it.

Be it a startup or a MNC, I’d like to put this down as – Work hard, Play harder and Sleep tight. This is my basic style of management. It’s good to see when you give ‘more-then-asked’ freedom to your employee’s or team members and make sure the same is put in terms of work from their end.

  • Name 3 qualities of prime importance that a businessman should possess.

Umm…I can’t really segment the three qualities, but let’s say – If you have a vision to do something that can bring a change, and if you’re serious about it, simply do everything what it takes to make your vision a reality. Probably the challenges may then give you a clear insight about the qualities you need to cultivate.

  • According to you, what are the challenges for Entrepreneurship today?

The biggest challenge a young entrepreneurs will most likely face is getting swamped up between the work and education curriculum, at least until the age of 22. This means that one must juggle their business or side venture with school work, something that can be a challenge with a rigorous course load.  Running my business through my school and college days, I learned to block off hours for the duties that absolutely had to get done.  I also learned to answer customers between classes and always be professional, whether I was about to spend my time with family or sit down in an office meeting.

  • Can Entrepreneurship be taught in B-Schools/Management Institutes/Colleges?

Something’s in life are learnt only when you dive into it. And entrepreneurship is one of them. It’s an opportunity in disguise. Entrepreneurship is a journey that one has to take for oneself to experience. It cannot be taught by anybody. It’s a continuous process of learning, innovating and experimenting for the achievement of your vision.

  • Is the Name of the Institute from where a student pursues his/her Graduation/Post Graduation or other courses important while setting up your business?

There is no restriction for anybody to set up a business. I started my first venture when I was 16. We everyday come to know about young students starting their ventures and making them a success. Past and present, there are tons of examples.

  • Do you think today’s economy is conducive for a new venture to start upon?

Yes, I think so. Economy of any country always has ups and downs. It’s the policy that the economy follows makes a conducive environment for start-ups. And the today, Indian economy is very much encouraging for startups. Apart from policies, the Indian economy’s sustenance to the downfall in 2008 till date tells us that economy is by far very much positive for startups.

  • Do you think introduction of Wal-Mart in retail industry will affect businesses to great extent. What impact will it have on Indian business industry?

Introduction of Wal-Mart has its own pros and cons. On the positive side, it will bring huge employment opportunity in India, and there will be different products available in the Indian market. But on the negative side, it may have a negative impact on the small and medium stores and enterprises and other retailers in the market.

  • Earning more & more is the motive behind any business.” Is it justifiable?

No, it’s not justifiable. An entrepreneur should always think about profit – no doubt in that. But looking only at the profit scenario and discarding the customer satisfaction is very different. Every organization or startup should have a social responsibility and exploiting resources from the society is an absolute – No.

  • Share with us the most enjoyable moment you had experienced on work.

Me and my team usually work during the peace hours (at mid-night). I still recollect the day, somewhere about one year back when we were laying down the blueprint of Blogathon. It all started out from a conversation at our favorite coffee shop. It was just in next few hours, we had already made our first sale of the ticket. That was the most memorable moment for me.
