  • Tell us more about yourself.

I am normal guy from a middle class family consisting of 5 members Me Mom-Dad, an elder brother and his wife. I have being awarded as the Best Student of BMS for the year 2012-13 of my college. My hobbies are making new friends, gaining knowledge, sometimes it might not be related to my profession. I am a big fan of Cars and wanted to do Automobile Engg but due to low percentage in my 10th and some family problems was not able to take Science. Anyways but I don’t think so by taking Commerce and then BMS I have done any mistake.

  • Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?

Being a topper of 3rd as well as 4th semester of BMS, I was expecting myself to top in this exam as well. The credit of this success I would like to give to my Father as he was the one who motivated me to take BMS after my 12TH and my other family members as well (i.e  My mom, elder brother and sister-in-law). I will also like to give the credit of my success to the BMS Co-ordinator of My College Mrs. Devika Suryawanshi for guiding me time to time in my difficulties. My college for supporting me.  Last but not the least my friends and well wishers.

  •  Did you prepare religiously from day One or A few weeks before the exams?

Yes, I prepared religiously from day one itself before the exam, by studying little bit daily atleast one subject just to clear the idea of the subject and later on in full flesh.

  • How did you allot time to different subjects?

I didn’t  have any self-made timetable. But a month before the exam I make it, as the overall idea of how much time should be allotted to each subject gets cleared and helps in studying properly which help me to study and keep a target before me to complete it on time.  I study 3-4 hours a day except college and class time, while during exams I study 6-7 hours or more.

  • Can you share some insights on how to crack the subjects before exams?

Before the exams, students should revise what they had studied in past rather studying something which they have not studied at all. In 5th semester Easy subjects were Financial Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Special studies In Finance. The best way to crack case-study is once reading and understanding the case and then starting with the case. Case study is the Question where the students loose more marks and should take more care. For solving case study students should before exam practice atleast one question a day. This would help them in the exam to solve it. Students while writing a brief answer or any answer should write a short meaning of the question then definition, after that they should write the answer point wise rather than writing a paragraph wise.

  • Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?

According to me, till the end of 4th semester there is no requirement of coaching classes self study is enough. But if required students can join it for only practical subjects. I had joined coaching classes for Final year in Navigator Tutorials only for practical subjects’ i.e Financial Management and Special studies in Finance of 5th semester while International Finance, Investment Analysis and portfolio Management of 6th semester.

  • Did you participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities? Do you think a BMS student can manage both studies and extra activities?

Yes, I had participated in college fests or extra-curricular activities. Yes, I think BMS students can manage both studies and extra activities. But at the end it depends on the ability of the student to manage both studies and other activities as well. As two students cannot be same, it differs from student to student.

  • Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS?

Yes, I have pursed 6 months internship alongside BMS. This had helped me out a lot in my studies. As the practical knowledge which I received from it had helped me out in analysing book knowledge in practical form and understand it better. Infact every student should pursue an internship to understand things better.

  • Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?

The main reason behind students committing suicide is because of competition and the pressure which parents they get from their parents right from selection of the stream to scoring higher percentage in their exams. In my life I was never pressurized by my parents in anything. I was given required freedom to extent of which it is required. I have received a lot of support from my parents which is the greatest motivation which I have received. Stress is something which a person suffers after a particular limit. I also suffer from stress but to overcome stress I sleep a lot and overcome it. The technique of overcoming stress differs from person to person some go out and hangout, some listening to music, some do party etc.

  •  Do you think the number of Industrial visits should be increased for BMS Students? Which industries have you visited?

Yes, I think the number of Industrial Visit should be increased for BMS students. There should be atleast 2 industrial visits one before each semester. I have visited Mohan’s and Mikkins (Beer company), Amartex(textile), Saras dairy, Mother dairy, Sudha Cars, Imperial Arts(Antique Furnitures), Woodware Furniture pvt ltd(Furniture company) Dainik Bhaska, Inka foods pvt ltd, Dabur India pvt ltd.

  • Do you think BMS students are flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams round the clock? What changes would you like to bring in the BMS Curriculum?

No, I don’t think so BMS students are flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams round the clock. No, I don’t think that any changes should be brought in the BMS curriculum except the time period between the 2 semesters should be widened.

  • What message would you like to give to the next batch of BMS students?

I would like to give a message to the next batch of BMS students to start their studies right from the beginning rather than starting it at last moment. Please don’t study for the sake of exam. Study as if you are getting to learn something new and not just for passing. Please do study by understanding its meaning not by ratafying. It will not help you out. All the very best.

  • What are the future plans post BMS?

My post BMS plans is pursuing an MBA degree and then starting something own of myself. Further I am planning to do Ph.d as well. But now concentrating just to complete my MBA after my BMS.

I will like to suggest for BMS.co.in to create awareness of this website at the student level as some students are still not aware about it. It is a good website which helps students. A good initiative by the BMS.co.in.
